The “guilty” cat was photographed while devouring the fruit on the tree while tiptoeing to reach it. Another picture showed the adorable cat looking at the camera with great surprise.

A series of the cat’s pictures was posted on a Facebook Page — Ang Buhay Magsasaka Pag May Tyaga Ay May Biyaya — on May 16 with the caption: “Natiklo na kung sino ang kumakain ng hinog na papaya.” [The culprit who’s been eating ripe papayas has been caught.]

“Ikaw pala mingming ang salarin. Inunahan mo yung may ari, mukhang matamis pa naman,” Facebook user Yolanda Guerrero Formanes quipped on the comment section.

Consuelo Abrencillo, for her part, said: “Kinakain pala ng pusa ang hinog na papaya. Dagdag sa kaalaman ko ‘yan.”

“Kaya pala (ang) ganda ng kutis ni muning kasi nakain ng papaya. Paborito ko rin ‘yan muning next time dalhan mo ‘ko,” another netizen Jho Na said.

Some have expressed compassion for the cat.

“Poor cat! She must be hungry. They usually eat meat than veggies and fruits,” Facebook user Seniorita Dyke said.
